A challenge that inspired one of yesterday’s cards

The Paper Players have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week that was the inspiration for that last Easy Envelope Gatefold card in my post earlier today.

So – I am finally entering my very first card challenge! I have seen a number of challenges online as I’ve started my blogging adventure – but I always have an excuse for not entering the cards that I’ve made in response. Well – not today! The last card that I featured in my entry from earlier today used the diagonal line from this Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge: florals / die-cut/punch / square card.

As my original set of directions indicated, I’ve used a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock for the base and then I have applied some of the beautiful DSP from Stampin’ Up!’s Pansy Petals paper pack. That medallion in the middle uses some of the other paper in this versatile pack and it covers a punched circle that closes this card. Please take a look at my earlier post for all of the cutting and assembly directions.

I posted this card earlier today with the notation that this is one of those unfinished cards that goes into my “inventory” until the right occasion calls for it. And that has just happened. I will be finishing the inside of the card with a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Timeless Tropics stamp set which says “Our friendship is timeless.” I am hoping that my friend, Ro, will be delighted with my card, which is a thank-you for all of her help, encouragement, and direction!

And thank you to the Paper Players for this fun challenge!
