This is a beautiful Clean and Simple (CAS) card. I can imagine it as a note card. But it is also a birthday greeting or a thinking-of-you card. There are no sophisticated techniques – stamping and a mat to highlight the great colors of the leaves. You might even call them Gorgeous Leaves as Stampin’ Up! does!
Here are the measurements:
#Pcs | Measurements | |
Basic White Card Base | 1 | 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” |
Mat | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” |
Basic White -Inside Mat | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” |
Basic White Card front panel | 1 | 3-3/4” x 5” |
Using the smaller leaf die in the Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Leaves stamp set, I simply stamped a row of these leaves across the face of the front panel.
- Here is the secret for even stamping: stamp the left leaf first. Then the right leaf. Center two of the stamps in the middle of the card and you will be able to see the relative overlap that you will need to make them even across the panel.
- Remember that these do not need to be aligned precisely. Let your stamping give the sense of the leaves being tossed across the card front by the wind.
I chose the sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set for the face. I left the inside panel blank except for 2 little leaves peaking up from one of the lower corners.
Add a couple more leaves to the front of the envelope and you have a pretty, coordinated card.
These were my 4 color combinations:
Orange to Red | Pink to Blue | Green Leaves | Yellow to Orange |
Bumble Bee | Polished Pink | Soft Seafoam | Daffodil Delight |
Pumpkin Pie | Fresh Freesia | Pear Pizzazz | Soft Saffron |
Pear Pizzazz | Highland Heather | Granny Apple Green | Bumble Bee |
Old Olive | Bermuda Bay | Old Olive | Fresh Freesia |
Cajun Craze | Balmy Blue | Garden Green | Pumpkin Pie |
Cherry Cobbler | Misty Moonlight | Shaded Spruce | Cajun Craze |
Mat: Cajun Craze | Mat: Highland Heather | Mat: Pear Pizzazz | Mat: Daffodil Delight |
These are so pretty…and clean. And the best part is that they are such fanciful colors – as I am still in denial that the summer is over! But I have to say that this Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Leaves stamp set is helping me through that denial…
