This pretty card uses only one bundle: Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments. This is a “study” in pink and gray – my favorite color combination!
It is also a very easy card to put together and I think that it would be an awesome Christmas card to make if you need several (or many) of them to send to friends and family.
The only card cuts are as follows:

| Smoky Slate cardstock scrap | At least ¾” x 5” | This strip will be embossed and glued to the inside message panel. |
Once you have the cutting done, emboss the vellum panel with the hybrid embossing folder from the Merriest Moments Bundle. While you have the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine out, die cut the message panel and emboss a thin strip of Smoky Slate to adorn the inside message panel.
I used the Vellum Cardstock straps to die cut three of the poinsettia flowers and 2 of the holly leaf pieces that are included in the Merriest Moments dies.
The cutting is complete now and it is all about assembly, decorating, and a bit of stamping!
I used Slate Gray ink to stamp the messages for both the front and the inside of the card. At this point, I assembled the inside message panel and glued it into the Blushing Bride Card base.
Then using a Blending Blush and Blushing Bride ink, I colored the poinsettias, and the holly leaves so that they would be very subtle and add to the elegance.
We all know that gluing vellum is a problem. But there are plenty of hidden spaces on this vellum design to place glue so that it won’t look like a grease spot! I used Stampin’ Seal on the panel, which will be hidden by the message and a couple of glue dots in the right corner where the poinsettia will be adhered. Then I assembled the poinsettia and tucked the holly leaves behind it and adorned the center with Pearl Basic Jewels. (But those are white, I hear you say! Yes, they are. But they take the color from a Stampin’ Blend Smoky Slate beautifully – which means that these versatile little jewels can be matched to any color scheme you wish to use!)
I used 3 more Smoky Slate pearls to decorate the message panel. (Remember that the use of an odd number of embellishments is more pleasing to the eye than even numbers.) And of course, I couldn’t control myself – I added a bit of Wink of Stella to glitter the poinsettia up just a bit more!
And voila!
This color scheme, though a favorite of mine, was inspired by the Color Throwdown #671 for this week. I love this color combination and I’ve been thinking about all kinds of cards to use it on. But this is my entry for this challenge.
If you would like to make this card in my alternative color scheme, I simply replaced the Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride cardstock with a Smoky Slate card base. And I changed the strip on the inside message panel to Blushing Bride so that it would stand out just a bit. But other than that – it is the same card – and I’m not sure which one I prefer.
