Eden’s Garden with a Christmas twist!

There is nothing as great as getting more from our craft supplies than we are expecting!  Stampin’ Up!’s Eden’s Garden is just beautiful.  And the suite of products creates beautiful cards in amazing shades of green with beautiful textures.  But that is only the beginning of the story.

Here is one more application for this stamp set: it has a resemblance to holly.  To create a fresh look for this beloved set, I used the main image, inked it up with Mint Macaron, and pounced the middle of the image with Cherry Cobbler ink.  With another dauber, I used Garden Green ink on the ends of the leaves to create more texture and definition.

The Merry Christmas stamp in a beautiful cursive font is from Stampin’ Up!’s Heartfelt Wishes stamp set.  (This is one of those sets that I would consider an “investment piece”.  It will never go out of style and offers wonderful sentiments for holiday cards.) I stamped the greeting across the card front with Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler ink.  The knotted ribbon is Stampin’ Up! White Crinkled Seam Binding that I’ve dyed with a Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends.  This ribbon is my “go-to” ribbon since it is easily dyed to match anything that your project calls for. And it’s easy to tie!

The front panel is mounted on a Cherry Cobbler mat and then adhered to the Garden Green card base.

The inside panel of this card repeats the floral image once more, peeking out from the corner with the message stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The message is also from the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set and continues the cursive font from the front of the card.

The cardstock uses only the basic cuts and makes this card quick and easy.

For the finishing touch, I decided to use the Stampin’ Up! Genial Gems to add just a bit of sparkle to the card – and voila!

I have entered this card into this week’s Global Design Challenge #321 – which is a color challenge requiring Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron, and Garden Green. These colors are beautiful together and just sounded like a Christmas wreath to me!

Thanks so much for stopping in today! Here is a list of the supplies that I have used.  I’m hoping that this is a card that will delight you with its simple elegance.
