Know someone who should know what a blessing they are in your life?

Yup.  Me too…there are so many who are blessings for sure – and then the 3 or 4 who are particular blessings to me.

That was the thought that I had when I opened the box from Stampin’ Up! and found the Blessings of Home bundle waiting for me.  This new bundle is just beautiful and offers so many wonderful card designs.

I have been collecting my thoughts on this one.  There were two goals for this project today: (1) use only one bundle for the card and (2) answer a color challenge, as they are always helpful for me to confine my choices.

This card is elegant, and I am hoping will deliver the message with the love that is behind it.  But the design itself was not complex.  In fact, the measurements will look familiar to you:

PcsMeasurementsDescription
Basic White Cardstock15-1/2” x 8-1/2”Scored on the long side at 4-1/4”
Calypso Coral cardstock24” x 5-1/4”For mat and inner message panel
Basic White Cardstock23-3/4” x 5”This is the panel for stamping and for the inside panel
Basic White Cardstock ScrapsFor die cutting sentiments

I stamped the smaller flower bunch using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I did 2 images so that I could use one to pop up a couple of the flowers in the bunch.  Pale Papaya and Just Jade Stampin’ Blends provided the color for the stems and the larger flower centers.  A Dark Calypso Stampin’ Blend was used for the centers of the small flowers – and then all of the flowers were painted with Wink of Stella for some sparkle.  (I’m not sure if the picture picks that up.)

I decided to use a Blender Brush to create a hazy backdrop for the flowers with Calypso Coral ink.  I have seen this technique used by others and I have always admired it.  It has easily done but incredibly striking, I think!

I stamped the face of the card with a lovely sentiment from the Blessings of Home Bundle and finished the inside of the card with one of the other sentiments.

I wanted to be sure that the inside of the card was a feature as well.  So, the message panel is lined with a mat of Calypso Coral cardstock, as the face panel is.  But I just had to be sure that there was another nod to the flowers and did a partial stamp in the corner of the inside panel.

Paper Players Challenge PP573 inspired the color palette.  (With so many colors available, I am sometimes overwhelmed.  This challenge offered me some great parameters!)  You will find this card posted on their challenge board.

I love this new bundle.  The style is versatile and offers so many different and distinctive designs.  (BTW, the images themselves are called DistINKtive, as they have an almost photographic quality to them.  And they are awesome to color as the shading is virtually done for you!)

Amy – you are so kind to stop in to see my blog post! I love the blender brushes and almost never remember to use them. But, wow, do they do a wonderful job with spotlighting a card’s main image!

Susan that sentiment is a great way to let those special people in your life know how much you mean to them and compliments your delicate flower beautifully. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!

Wow, Amy – thank you so much for including my post in your blog! You are always so kind with these citations – for all of us!

This particular one is very special, though, as I think that your reference has put me in touch with someone who played a very important part in my career long, long ago!!! What an amazing coincidence! Thank you so much!
