New to cardmaking? Try an Amazing Silhouette

Sometimes we need a quick thank you note – or a gift of thank you notes for someone special.

Cardmaking does not need to be complicated or require huge amounts of supplies and stamps and equipment.  Here is one from a beautiful stamp set:  Stampin’ Up! Amazing Silhouettes.

I decided to use some of the retiring colors – but mostly, you can match the ink that you have with the coordinating cardstock on hand.  Add a few baubles and you are done!

Here are the card cuts:

PcsMeasurementsDescription
Stampin’ Up Basic White cardstock15-1/2” x 8-1/2”Scored on the long side at 4-1/4”
Stampin’ Up! So Saffron cardstock14” x 5-1/4”For mat on card face.
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Cardstock13-3/4” x 5”This is the panel for stamping.

I mentioned So Saffron, which is a beautiful color!  But in the set that I have made here, I also used Polished Pink, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, and Fresh Freesia.

I used the butterfly silhouette, which is special to me as butterflies were a favorite of my mother.  In fact, it was her “handle” in the 1970s, when so many had a CB radio.

The “thanks” sentiment comes from Stampin’ Up!’s Artistically Inked stamp set.  This is also one of my favorites with beautiful sentiments in great fonts, along with some extraordinary images.  (I would call this stamp set an “investment piece” for all the possibilities that it offers!)

Everything is stamped directly on the front panel of the card face – simple stamping.

I used an assortment of “bling”.  Some of the cards have Stampin’ Up! 2020-2022 Enamel Dots but most of them are Pearl Basic Jewels.  I love multi-use supplies and the Pearl Basic Jewels fit the bill!  I used Stampin’ Blends to color them to match.

This is another feature of Stampin’ Up! products that makes crafting so much more enjoyable for those of us who are avid card makers as well as those of us who are new to the craft!

The following is a list of the products that I used – but I suspect that this beautiful image would lend itself to your favorite colors – or whatever supplies you have on hand!  It does NOT need to be complicated to be elegant! Choose whatever supplies you would like. And please don’t forget that I would be delighted to be your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!

Thanks so much for taking a look at today’s card!
