I love red and white cards almost as much as I like tone-on-tone cards! And when Stampin’ Up! comes up with a Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack like Boughs of Holly, the cards are virtually done for you…at least that’s what you will find with this one!
The paper cuts are easy and so is the assembly!

I will tell you that I CAS’d this card from Su Mohr at Aromas and Art. She makes beautiful cards and this definitely caught my eye!
Once you follow the cutting and scoring instructions above, the assembly is very simple. I embossed the smaller Basic White panels using the Wintry 3D Embossing folder as the chart indicates. These were mounted on the Garden Green panels so that the very think border highlighted the beautiful evergreen needles.
Once these panels were complete, I glued them to the front of the card with a small space around them so that some of the Cherry Cobbler card base showed through.
The largest scallopoed Layering Circles Die created the green mat for the center medallion cut from a plain Layering Circle die from the Boughs of Holly DSP. BTW, I had given the DSP a spritz of the Shimmer Spray that I just love to use before doing the die cut! In fact, I shimmer spritzed the entire sheet of the DSP because well…it’s the only decent thing to do when you are a sparkly girl. Everything should glow at the holidays – don’t you think?
(As a reminder, the “Shimmer Spray” is just a mix of 70% rubbing alcohol and Tsukineko All-Purpose Ink in Champagne Gold. Stampin’ Up! used to sell this ink – but it has been retired. Some of us bought it then – but it is readily available from Amazon, if you would like it. Mix the alcohol with a few drops of the ink in a Stampin’ Spritzer and you are holding pure magic!
With the DSP cut and mounted on the Garden Green scalloped circle, I mounted the medallion on the card face and then created the sentiment. Using the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Brightest Glow stamp set on Basic White cardstock, I fussy cut around it, used Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals to pop it up , and mounted in toward the bottom of the cardface.
I used the same stamp set for the inside panel as well and used Cherry Cobbler ink on both sentiments. The inside panel also has a double lining on the lower edge of Garden Green and the DSP. I used the Scalloped Contours dies as an edging for a little bit of interest.
With a few Gilded Gems on the card face, I think that it is ready to go to my neighbors and friends to wish them a joyous holiday!
I love doing Christmas cards as much as I love the spring and summery cards that were so hard for me to transition away from! I hope that I can transition right back out as the holidays are bearing down on me faster than I am ready for them to!
In the meanwhile, thank you so much for taking a look at today’s card! I think that this is definitely a candidate for a batch card making session as there are few pieces and straightforward assembly. Just be sure that you have enough of that gorgeous DSP!
