The most elegant, soft colors can deliver the Brightest Glow

I have loved the Texture Chic DSP since the mini catalog first came out.  It has so many possibilities – including a Christmas card, believe it or not!

I love the soft greens and pinks together.  But even this design could be adapted for a winter wedding or a winter birthday or another occasion that needs a soft elegance.  But Christmas is a great application.

Stampin' Up! Brightest Glow

Although it looks complex, the design is fairly common.  It’s the materials that make all the difference.  Here are the card cuts:

PcsMeasurementsDescription
Stampin’ Soft Succulent cardstock15-1/2” x 8-1/2”Scored on the long side at 4-1/4”.
Stampin’ Up! Blushing Bride cardstock14” x 5-1/4”Mat for the card face.
Stampin’ Up! Texture Chic DSP13-3/4” x 5”Mat for card face.
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Cardstock14” x 5-1/4”Inside panel.
Stampin’ Up! Vellum Cardstock ScrapTo be used for white heat-embossed snowflakes to decorate card face.
Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Cardstock ScrapTo die cut small snowflakes to decorate card face.
Stampin’ Up! Soft Succulent Cardstock1ScrapTo punch tag for sentiment.
Stampin’ Up! Texture Chic DSP1½” x 5-1/4”To decorate the bottom of inside panel.

I layered the panels for the front panel together and then decorated them.  The main focus is one of those beautiful Wonderful Snowflake embellishments.  (Just please don’t throw away the base that it pops away from.  This “negative space” has great potential too!)

I used the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder after I stamped the “All is merry and bright” sentiment from the Brightest Glow set.  Then I added a small ribbon made from the 1/8” White Crinkle Seam Binding ribbon that I had colored with a Blushing Bride Blender pen so that it would match the background and mat.

I also added a few snowflakes that I had made from the Joyful Flurries bundle for another project.  I always make a lot of those types of die cuts because they often come in handy on other projects.  Here is a great example!

I used Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals and mini Dimensionals on these snowflakes to pop them up and add a little more texture.

The inside of the card is also a very standard design.  The stamping was done using Memento Black ink and a sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp set as well as the strip of Texture Chic DSP lining the bottom of the panel.

Stampin' Up! Brightest Glow

This card was very quick and very easy.  The piecework to create it is familiar.  But it’s all about the materials…Texture Chic DSP, snowflakes, Gilded Gems, ribbon.  They add up to a beautiful card that will be a stand-out on anyone’s mantle.

The following is the list of the materials that I used…some of these are retiring so you will want to check on them soon – or look to see what you already have that would make a good substitute.  Come on…you know you have a bunch of treasures!!!

Thanks so much for looking in on me today!
