A Unique Trifold Card

Do you have trouble cutting up beautiful Designer Series Papers?  Yup.  Me too.  I hate sacrificing one gorgeous paper because it is the back side of the paper that I want to use.  But aha!!!  Here I am to rescue you from this persistent dilemma!!

Stampin' Up! Amazing Year, Fitting Florets DSP

This beautiful Trifold Card lets you feature both sides of that DSP that you love!  No abandoning one beautiful pattern in favor of the other one…

Fold and burnish the DSP panels like this:

Use the largest Basic White Circle for the front medallion.  Apply glue to only a quarter of the width of the scallop so that it does not glue the folds together.

Open the first pleat of the folded card and apply the Basic White scalloped circle that is one size smaller than the front medallion to the back of it.  Adhere the Polished Pink small scallop medallion to the middle.

With another Polished Pink medallion, apply glue to the back but place that medallion face down on the left side of the card.  Then fold the card closed so that the Polished Pink medallion is glued to the exact spot where it will not be seen from the front while the card is closed.

Open the card to the last section.  Glue the remaining Polished Pink scalloped medallion on the left side of the panel.  Be sure that it is centered on the panel, or it will interfere with the panel on the earlier fold.

Glue the message medallion to the center of the Polished Pink Medallion, while adhering the message panel to the back panel of the card.

Adhere the entire folded card to the center of the Balmy Blue card base.  This base will provide some firmness to the entire card because the Designer Series Paper is beautiful, but lightweight.  It also provides a nice frame that highlights the blue parts of the design.

The sentiments come from the Amazing Year Stamp set and carries the birthday message across all 3 panels with the same font.

Although the pictures show the floral designs already on the medallions, placing them was actually the last step in this process.  The florals are fussy cut from another sheet of the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.

Glossy Dots embellished the card face and completed the card.

I have a number of these cards in process on my desk.  I really liked this design because it is so different with the multiple folds in a way that allows you to enjoy both sides of the beautiful Designer Series Papers!  I will post some pictures of those as they are completed.  I used our new Favored Flowers, which is very dramatic, and a few using Awash in Beauty DSP.

When you are looking for a card design, I think that using one design with several versions of DSP or with different stamp sets offers some great possibilities!

Thanks so much for stopping in today to take a look at this card.  Please let me know if you have any questions or if I have not explained the steps in a way that makes sense, give me a holler!  I am always happy to help!

Here is a list of supplies that I used…except for the Fitting Florets DSP, which I just realized was retired.  (But I bet that you may have some of that left over!)
