I just got a call canceling a get-together that two friends and I had planned for the weekend. It seems that one of us has gotten COVID in spite of all measures taken!
It seems like there is another round of COVID – or that it has supplanted the flu that is always around in the winter months. But this poor lady is truly feeling just awful.
I wanted a quick card to say that I was thinking of her. “Get wells” are ok. But I am much more into the “thinking of you” type of greeting because my handwritten message usually says something like “call me if you need anything” at all…
So, this is a very quick post to highlight the most gorgeous bundle that Stampin’ Up! has put out since…well…Artistically Inked. This bundle is an online exclusive new to the product line – and it is gorgeous! The Irresistible Blooms stamps are beautiful. The Dies are…well…to die for. And the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is some of the most beautiful I think I have seen in my tenure as a demonstrator. It does NOT hurt that the color scheme included some of my favorite shades.
The card cuts are very easy:
# | Measurements | Notes | |
Stampin’ Up! Flirty Flamingo Card Stock | 1 | 4-1/4” x 11” | Scored along the long edge at 5-1/2” for the card base. |
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Stock | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” | Inside message panel |
Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Card Stock | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” | Outside mat. TIP: You can die cut the leaves from the center of this panel as it will be covered by 2 layers of decoration – and no one will ever know! |
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock | 1 | 3-3/4” x 5” | Mat for card face. |
Stampin’ Up! Hello Irresistible 6” x 6” DSP | 1 | This is the image that you will want to center in the White “Wreath” overlay on the card face. You can use as much of this 6” x 6” sheet or as little as you want. Then cut a ½” strip from a leftover piece to line the bottom border of the inside message panel.
Stampin’ Up! Hello Irresistible 6” x 6” DSP | 1 image | One of the DSP sheets has multiple blooms printed on it. The dies will cut them out. I used only one of the large ones for this card.
Stampin’ Up! Gold Foil Card Stock | Scraps | This is to create the leaves around the large bloom. |
- Cut all of the pieces per the chart above and you are ready to assemble.
- Using the larger Basic White card stock mat, stamp the “thinking of you” greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Go-To Greetings stamp set.
- Glue the ½” strip along the bottom of the message panel, trimming as needed.
- Mount the message panel on the inside of the card base.
- Using the smaller Basic White card stock panel, place the “wreath” die from the Irresistible Blooms Die Set in the center of the panel. Cut using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, or any other thin die cutting machine.
- Center the Hello, Irresistible DSP panel so that the flower is well framed and glue these pieces together.
- Mount the framed floral panel to the Gold Foil mat and glue the full panel to the card face.
- Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the separate flower die cut on the lower left side of the “wreath” and tuck the Gold Foil leaves around it. Glue those in place with multipurpose glue.
- Choose 3-5 of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to add some bling to the card face.
And done!
It almost feels like cheating when the Stampin’ Up! bundle virtually creates itself, as it did with this card! Our craft does NOT need to be complicated to have some dazzling effects. Sometimes you are just assembling gorgeous elements to create a custom card!
This is one example of that!
I will be exploring more of this bundle in the upcoming weeks as I am just obsessed with the colors and the designs. There is so much that you can do with this bundle – and then I will be obsessing about what to do with the scraps that are inevitably left behind!!
Thanks for looking in on my card today. It is definitely quick and easy…but, hey, sometimes you need to send a card RIGHT NOW…and an hours-long project is just not practical. Here is a really quick “grab and go”.
So pretty Susan! Love the colors and the layering! 🙂
Thanks so much, Amy! But honestly, could this bundle be any better? I know that I will say that there are a number of things from SU that are my favorites…but this one really really is. I will be hoarding this paper for a looooong time!
Beautiful card, Susan! I love that die cut on the front panel! 🙂
Honestly, Mary, cards just make themselves with this one bundle! Everything is just so beautiful from the dies to the colors…everything…can’t go wrong. Thanks so much for looking in on me!
