A Beautiful, Lacy Easter Card that is a quick create…

I have been making Easter cards – at least a few for this year.  I do not seem to send these out as much any more as the older generation of my family has passed on.  The younger ones do not seem to be as “card intensive”.  But it is a labor of love for me as it is the first harbinger of spring in the cold Northeast.

Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora

The design centers around the full panel die from the Stampin’ Up! Two Tone Flora bundle and a piece of the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) Fancy Flora.  Plus, there are VERY few card cuts:

  1. Prepare the card base and fold along the score line.
  2. Die cut the lace panel on the Fancy Flora DSP once you have found a part of the pattern that shows through so that the “stained glass” effect shows the way you would like it.
  3. Adhere the lace panel (carefully as the gluing can be a little fussy) on the Orchid Oasis mat.  I hand trimmed the mat so that everything lined up perfectly.
  4. Stamp the “Happy Easter” sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set using Orchid Oasis ink on Fresh Freesia card stock.  Punch the sentiment out with the Label me Fancy punch.  Add the small slit from this punch on each side of the sentiment so that the ribbon can thread through it.
  5. With a piece of the Fresh Freesia 3/8” Open Weave Ribbon, thread it through the sentiment panel and then around the decorative panel.
  6. Attach the completed panel to the card face.  I used Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals to add a little bit of lift.
  7. Stamp the inside sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp set with Orchid Oasis ink and adhere the DSP strip along the bottom of the panel.  Trim as needed.
  8. Adhere to the inside of the card base.
  9. Add some bling with Pearl Basic Jewels, coloring them first with an Orchid Oasis Blender pen for that custom look.

And you are done!  This is a very quick card to do because, honestly, the die cut on the Fancy Flora DSP does most of the work…

So, I offer this design to you if you realize this Saturday afternoon that you forgot an Easter card along the way!  I love the Fancy Flora DSP and the Label me Fancy.  However, please feel free to improvise as the emergency demands!

Thanks so much for stopping in on this Holy Saturday for an emergency “card fix”!!

These are the supplies that I used today…but, you know…improvise if you must.  It’s all good!

Thanks so much, Amy! I would never have thought of using DSP for a full panel die like this – but the colors make a beautiful pattern in the already-intricate die cut. I just loved it and had to CAS it…and wonder why I hadn’t thought of it myself!
