I was so happy to see that the Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies stamp and Poppy Moment dies were not retired for the May 2022 Annual Catalog. These are beautiful staples in the investment collection for us card makers!
For today’s card, I used the Poppy Moments Dies to create a Mossy Meadow and Basic White design, lined with vellum for this Thank you card. It is a very straightforward design – but the offbeat colors make it a wow!
Please note that I CASd this from Sue Black’s version on Pinterest because the color scheme struck me. I took almost the entire design from this talented lady, except to put a sentiment on the card face. I cannot tell a lie!!
The cutting is easy:
# | Measurements | Notes | |
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Thick Card Stock | 1 | 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” | I often use the Thick Cardstock when white is the background color. That is because there is not a need for the inner panel – which gives the thinner card stock the umph that it needs to counterbalance a multi-layer card front. |
Stampin’ Up! Vellum Card Stock | 1 | 3” x 5-1/2” | Panel on card face. |
Stampin’ Up! Mossy Meadow Card Stock | Scraps | This is the wreath and leaf die cuts.
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock | Scraps | This is for the flower and leaves die cuts.
Stampin’ Up! Vellum Card Stock | Scraps | This is for the flower shapes that line the poppies. |
I cut out all of the die cuts, using my Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss machine. The dies that I used came from the Poppy Moment Dies and the Painted Labels dies.
Once the dies are cut, I assembled the flowers and leaves and then adhered all of the elements to the card face. The circle with the sentiment is a 1-3/4” diameter and may be cut from a circle punch or from the Stampin’ Up! Layering Circles die set. The sentiment on both the front and the inside of the card comes from the Stampin’ Up! Flowering Tulip Stamp set – another genius design set!
This card comes together easily and is a beautiful thank you note – although it could easily be a birthday or anniversary card – or even a get-well or sympathy card. The elegance of the flowers and the color scheme would lend the card to all these sentiments!
Thank you so much for stopping in to take a peek at today’s card! Please let me know if you have any questions – and, as always, I would be delighted to help you with any Stampin’ Up! questions that you might have!
The supplies that I used included:
Beautiful card Susan! Love the vellum flowers! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! They were the featured that attracted me to the original card. I don’t know why but I never think of lining a large die cut with vellum – but the effect is pretty cool! Thanks for looking in on my blog post!
Absolutely gorgeous! That clean color palette with the vellum flowers is just stunning! 🙂
Thanks so much, Mary! I would never have thought of the Mossy Meadow for the complete color palette – but the original card was just stunning, so I CAS’d it!!! Thanks so much for looking in on me today!
