A beautiful and simple greeting CAS’d from the new catalog

One of the delights of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs is the inclusion of so many beautiful ideas for cards made with the products!  The newest catalog is no exception…and so I began immediately with this pretty and simple card from the new Happiness Abounds Bundle.

I used the DSP for most of the card with the sentiments and the front panel using the other part of the bundle.  (If you are looking for it separately in the catalog, the DSP is called Hues of Happiness. One of the challenges that I really enjoy taking on is designing cards from a single bundle – so that, if you are new to cardmaking or to Stampin’ Up!, you can make a small purchase and get a lot of punch!

The card cuts are very standard for this A2 card:

PcsMeasurementsDescription
Stampin’ Up! Polished Pink Cardstock15-1/2” x 8-1/2”Scored on the long side at 4-1/4”
Stampin’ Up! Hues of Happiness DSP14” x 5-1/4”Large mat on card face
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Cardstock13-1/2” x 4-3/4“White mat on card face.  Emboss with the flowery vine die in the bundle.
Stampin’ Up! Hues of Happiness DSP with the large flowers  I cut a bunch of these out so that I could make up several cards in a single sitting!  You can either fussy cut them – or (even better) use the dies in the bundle for quick, precise cutting!  See photo below.

This is part of the pile of flowers that I cut out of the two sheets of DSP from this paper pack.

Once the cutting is done, all you need to do is assemble the card face panel, adhere it to the Stampin’ Up! Polished Pink card base and embellish with some bling.

I stamped the inside panel with one of the other sentiments in the Happiness Abounds stamp set and decorated it with one of the partial flowers on the edge of the DSP.  And DONE!

The coolest part of this DSP pack is that there are rainbow colors reflected in the DSP.

The coolest feature of this set of flowers is that you can use the dies in the bundle to cut these out! I love when Stampin’ Up! does that…

I chose to use the reds and pinks.  But other options for this same card would be the yellows, greens, blues…all included in the same pack!  Just change the card stock base color and you could make a beautiful set of “Hello” cards for a friend who loves your work!

Please take a look at the new catalog and shop for card ideas, not just for product.  The designers create some amazing things to inspire us!

This is the card from page 1 of the catalog that served as inspiration. There are some exquisite card examples throughout the catalog.

Don’t you love my spiral bound catalog?  That one thing is a game changer for use you will get from the catalog itself.
