I love the Stampin’ Up! hybrid embossing folders! I have 2 of them in my collection and they are just beautiful! The Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing folder has a gorgeous petite floral pattern with a heart shape in the center. In addition, this great set has the dies available with it to cut the center heart out (as I have done for this card) as well as a smaller heart, complementary flowers, and sentiment labels. It’s a great set – and let’s you make brilliant cards so easily!
Isn’t this lovely with that classic “clean and simple” design?
Here are the card cuts for this one:
# | Measurements | Notes | |
Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grape Card Stock | 1 | 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” | Scored along the long side at 4-1/4”. |
Stampin’ Up! Mother of Pearl Card Stock | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” | Panel for card face. |
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock | 1 | 4” x 5-1/4” | Panel for inside sentiment. |
Stampin’ Up! Hues of Happiness DSP | Scraps | For heart die cut and lining on inside message panel. | |
Stampin’ Up Vellum Card Stock | 1 | Scrap | For sentiment on card face. |
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock | 1 | 2-3/4” x 5” | This is the panel that will be cut on the diagonal for the card face. |
Stampin’ Up! Color Card Stock | Scraps | These are for the floral accents and embellishments. |
Emboss the Mother of Pearl cardstock with the Stampin’ Up! Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing folder. I “clicked” the heart die cut into the folder as I was embossing so that I could add it to my “stash” for another card. That space will be filled in with the die cut heart from the DSP.
When I cut the Hues of Happiness DSP heart, I also cut out 2-3 Basic White cardstock hearts at the same time. I wanted the centerpiece to have some dimension and you can do this in 2 ways. Stampin’ Dimensionals always work well. But for a larger die cut like this one, I prefer having several glued layers under that center medallion.
I stamped the “Friend” sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink on a scrap of Vellum Cardstock and adhered it under the heart.
With the inside sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set, I completed the inside panel of the card with Gorgeous Grape ink as well as a ½” strip of the Hues of Happiness paper to finish the bottom.
With another scrap from the Hues of Happiness paper, I finished the back flap of the envelope to complete this pretty greeting for my friend and VOILA! Done!
Does it get easier for such an elegant look that few store-bought cards can beat?
But, of course, I could not stop there. I have just heard that my friend’s daughter is newly engaged. So what could be a better card to wish the happy couple best wishes?
This is that second image above. I changed the measurements of the card so that there would be a greater presence. This beautiful embossing folder can accommodate a 6” x 6” card. I used the same DSP and that elegant Mother of Pearl card stock. The sentiment comes from the Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Stamp set, which is happily continuing in this new Annual Catalog. I also tried to copy the style of my friend, Mary Deatherage, who always seems to be able to have a beautiful, stamped overlay on her greetings. Me? Not quite there yet…unless I channel my inner Mary…
I hope that you will give this set a try as it creates beautiful cards almost effortlessly! Please be aware, though, that we have just received word that the Boutquet of Love Hybrid Embossing folder set is about to retire. If you want this one – and this is one of those investment pieces that will serve you for years – order it soon…

So pretty! Love the shimmery background paper! 🙂
Thanks so much, Amy – and even that beautiful finish on the Mother of Pearl works well when embossed. It doesn’t crack or peel. I just love it!
Such an elegant, beautiful card, Susan! Wow!
Thanks so much, Carol! And it is 1-2-3 in its construction! I love the 6″ x 6″ size when you want to send a really special card since that size NEVER gets lost in the shuffle!
Oh my! That Mother of Pearl paper is GORGEOUS embossed like this! Stunning card! 🙂
Thanks, Mary – and how cool is it that it doesn’t crack when embossed! In fact, it looks like it was made to be used that way…I just love this paper!
