Even Pretty Birds can get silly!

As I was making the Pretty Birds card that I published here, I had this idea that the artist who designed this stamp had made some fun options possible.  So here they are…that group of friends looking in amusement (or is that shock and horror?) at that one friend who is always the clown!

I wish I knew which artist at Stampin’ Up! created the amazing Pretty Birds Bundle because I want to know if he or she had this in mind…

Stampin' Up! Pretty Birds Bundle

To keep you from having to toggle back to the earlier version, I have the measurements for you right here:

 #MeasurementsNotes
Stampin’ Up! Sweet Sorbet Card Stock15-1/2” x 8-1/2”Scored along the long edge at 4-1/4”.
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock13-3/4” x 5”White mat on card front.
Stampin’ Up! Sweet Sorbet Card Stock13-1/2” x 4-3/4”Mat for card front which will be embossed with the Stampin’ Up! Quatrefoil Embossing folder
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card Stock14” x 5-1/4”Mat for inside sentiment.
Stampin’ Up! Basic White Card StockScraps Used for stamping the birds and the sentiment for the card front.
Stampin’ Up! Basic Black Card StockScraps Used to cut the bird cage and the circle mat to highlight the stamped image.

While I had to do a little bit of image-surgery, the process for this card was identical to the earlier card.  The only difference is that I fussy-cut the die cut image and snipped the branch so that I could turn our fun friend upside down.  But the branch went together perfectly – as this photo will show.

What amazes me is that 3 of the other birds actually appear to be looking at our goofball!  The artist HAD to have had this in mind!  It is too perfect!

And that 5th bird?  Well, that’s our dreamer and he was off in his own world anyway – no matter who was doing what in any of the cards.

I cut out a banner shape for the card front sentiment and lettered it myself as it was very specific:

I used a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Shaded Summer stamp set for the inside.  There is a little bit of irony there for sure!  I borrowed a technique that Mary Deatherage uses a lot and very effectively with the stamped image from the Pretty Birds stamp set.  I used Soft Seafoam to be sure that it was a lighter image but still tied into the bird cage on the front of the card.

Stampin' Up! Pretty Birds and Stampin' Up! Shaded Summer

As I am looking at these two cards side by side, it looks to me like this one bird is the “sage” in the first image and the clown in the second one.  But it’s all a matter of perspective.

Hope this card brings a smile to your face!  If you have that goofball friend – or if you ARE the goofball friend, this is one to make.  Please give me a holler if you have any questions.

The following is my supply list – and please remember that if you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I would be thrilled to help you out!
