Just in CAS you think that you’ve seen this Cottage Wreath before…   

You have!!!  I have shamelessly CAS’d this pretty card from Amy Koenders from Stamp with Amy!  I just loved the card because of its color scheme as well as the wreath design.  But she also inspired me to use the Gingham Cottage DSP, which I honestly was not a fan of.  (They can’t all be winners, right?)

Well, beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder – and Amy saw this for sure! 

And now I am a fan of this DSP as well!

I was ALWAYS a fan of the Cottage Wreathes Bundle, though – and I suspect that this will be only the first of many designs that you will be seeing on my blog for future posts!  (I love wreathes probably even more than flowers or seashells – which says a lot!)

My version of the card is fairly simple and would make a great Thanksgiving Dinner invitation – or a thank you note after the holiday!  Who wouldn’t love to be able to send such a pretty thank you to a great host for a great time?

Here are the card cuts that I used:

With the card base cut and scored, I went on to do the stamping and die cutting.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreathes bundle for the centerpiece of the card face.  Using So Saffron ink as the base, I daubed Pumpkin Pie ink randomly on the wreath itself to add some depth.  Then I used Crumb Cake ink on the twig wreath image and stamped that on top of the leaves.

I also stamped quite a few sentiments from the Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings stamp set, which has great sentiments in a beautiful font.  I thought that Soft Suede was a stronger shade for the sentiments though.  I cut them out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. 

(You should note that I generally make a bunch of sentiments like these so that I have them available for easy card assembly.  I tend to get stuck on the sentiment and embellishment part of the process, so this helps me with my “card makers block.”)

I also stamped a portion of the maple leaf from the Soft Seedlings stamp set on the inside panel of the card.  Be sure that you stamp that image in the corner but up a little bit higher so that the Gingham DSP strip across the bottom doesn’t cover too much of that pretty leaf image.

With the Basic White panel for the outside embossed with the Stampin’ Up! Bricks and Mortar 3d Embossing Folder complete, I glued the wreath in place and then arranged my gold foil leaves around it.  I like them to be nice and full – but honestly, I think that fewer, well-placed leaves would work just as well.  I used the Mini Dimensionals on the bow to pop it up and did the same with regular Stampin’ Dimensionals for the sentiment panel.

I set both the inside and outside panels in place and decided that I did not need anything else.  It is so pretty, even without baubles and bling.

And yes, I did it in another color – my favorite yellow shades from Stampin’ Up!

I used the yellow Cottage Gingham DSP as well as So Saffron cardstock and ink for this version.  Isn’t it pretty?  All that beautiful beginning-of-autumn coloring that I am missing.
