A Dazzling Leaf Card – With Gratitude

I love gold and white – as the last post probably told you.  But add a maple leaf design with gold foil – or Stampin’ Up! Be Dazzling designer series paper – and it really catches my eye.

I think that this design would be a great thank you note – obviously.  But I’m also thinking that it would be an amazing invitation to Thanksgiving dinner.  We put so much time and love into the dinner – why not start it off in the weeks ahead with a very special invitation to start the experience?

Here are the cutting instructions:

 #PcsMeasurements
Shimmery White Card Stock15-1/4” x 8-1/2”Score at 4-1/4”
Shimmery White Card Stock24” x 5-1/4”One panel for card face and the other for the message panel
Vellum Card Stock11-1/2” x 4”
Crumb Cake Card Stock1¾” x 5”

I used Stampin’ Up! Wintry 3D Embossing folders – the evergreen design.  Placing one of the Shimmery White panels into the embossing folder so that it is centered, I embossed the design so that the margins are plain.  It creates a stunning effect!

The Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Wishes stamp set provides the “Much Gratitude” in a beautiful script.  I used Early Espresso ink on the Crumb Cake strip.  You may decide that you will do better by stamping the sentiment on the strip or stamp it on a larger piece of Crumb Cake card stock and cutting it down to the strip.  (My hand needs for me to stamp first, cut after – but so many of my colleagues do great and reliable stamping on the ready-to-go strip!)

I used the large maple leaf die from the beautiful Intricate Leaves die set.  Although I used the Stampin’ Up! Be Dazzling DSP for my sample card (and I love it!), gold foil or gold foil that has first been embossed with a design would be equally as beautiful, if you do not have the Be Dazzling card stock already.  (This beautiful paper was one of the premiums in our recent Sale-a-bration catalog.  Unfortunately, it sold out, even before the end of Sale-a-bration.)

Assemble the card front by adhering the vellum strip about an inch up from the lower edge.  I used Tear and Tape through the middle of the vellum – which will be covered by the sentiment strip,

  • The sentiment strip is an inch longer than the width of the card.  I like the finished look of the strip wrapped around the panel.

Once assembled, tuck the maple leaf die cut between the Crumb Cake strip and the vellum strip and glue.

Three of the Stampin’ Up! Gilded Gems adorn the card face, with a simple bow tied from the Stampin’ Up! gold Simply Elegant Trim.

I used a ½” strip of the Be Dazzling card stock or a strip of embossed gold foil for the bottom of the inside message panel without a stamped sentiment.

I have entered this card into two challenges: the Global Design Project for this week’s theme challenge: Leaves and CASology Week 395: One.

Thank you so much for checking in on today’s design!  More leaves to come – as fall is really in the air!

Do you need the “equipment” to work on your card? I’ve developed a list of some of the best cardmaking tools on the market from Stampin’ Up! And please let me know if you have any questions about any of these items. I own these – as well as several similar products from other manufacturers.

In fact, the quality of the equipment was the biggest reason that I decided to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Many of these were not the first to market…but when the company entered the market, the engineering and the features surpassed the competition – and the quality is outstanding.

Please let me know if I can help in any way – whether you already have a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator or not!
